My name is Dave Eyles, and I am a proud, born and raised, Sydneysider.
Like everyone who lives in Sydney, I love the beauty of the harbour…but see an urgent need to improve Circular Quay. I am simply proposing that we give the Quay “some air” and create more open space. It is relatively cheap, engineering is not a problem, and the effects will be magnificent.
Like most Aussies, I have travelled a bit.
I know what great pride people have for the landmarks of the cities in which they live.
For example, London has Trafalgar Square, New York has Times Square.
Wouldn’t it be great if we had something magical to compare with this. We have a massive advantage in that we have a wonderful harbour vista complete with the majestic Opera House and Harbour Bridge. With imagination we can have the best piazza/square in the world.
After all, we know we live in the best city in the world. Let’s show it to them.
