Sydney is one of the great cities of the world.
However, it hasn’t always been that way, and those of us that are old enough, can still remember going to “town” on the ferry.
Sydney is the largest city in our country, a thriving and expanding mixture of generations and cultures. We live in the “New York” of the Southern hemisphere. It is the city of dreams.
But guess what?
If you look at these historical pictures, nothing much has happened at Circular Quay. Sure, the ferries have changed and don’t have a smoke stack, but they still arrive at the same narrow strip of land.
Seems strange doesn’t it?
More and more people arrive, yet we haven’t expanded the open space to accommodate them.
At times, the Quay has become a crazy, tangled mess.
